1967 World Championship amateur road races , Beryl Burton wins for Britain with a 29 mile solo break. Graham Webb completes the double by winning the men’s race with a last minute charge.

I read Robert Penn’s book It’s All About the Bike when it was first published in July 2010, followed shortly after by an accompanying BBC4 documentary. He decided to build himself the ultimate bike after a lifetime’s love affair with cycling and rides around the world to select and purchase what he considers to be the perfect components. Trailer for the BBC programme .

Nostalgic video of Tom Simpson winning the Tour of Lombardy in 1965  with some great shots of Anquetil and Poulidor. This was the year Tom won the World Road Race Championship to take the Rainbow jersey and 2 years before his tragic death on Mont Ventoux during the 1967 Tour De France.
