As of its installation (29th September 2009) for the moment this is an all purpose blog. It’s main purpose for the moment is to document my progress in installing and learning about a range of open source collaborative environments and tools that I may be able to use for an open education project I am hoping to embark on when I retire in a couple of years. Apart from this WordPress blog I have installed a WordPress MU with the BuddyPress plugins that adds social networking functions, a MediaWiki installation and an Elgg installation. I will also be looking at the potential of hosted applications like Google Wave, Google Sites, Google Docs, Flickr, Youtube and Ning.
